What We've Been Doing:

• 3/27/20
  Regular monthly Lantern Newsletter went out.
   

• 3/24/20
  Fr. Peter sent a pastoral letter updating the COVID-19 status including:

  • We had created an Emergency Call List and notified all church families who may not have email or internet access of the sudden suspension of services. If you know of anyone who did not get the word please let the us know.

  • We've enabled the office to function remotely so that we have :

    • access to church email

    • are checking the office phone voicemail messages

  • Fr. Peter is working from home with full access to 90% of what he need on a day-to-day basis. He can be reached by cell phone, just as if he were physically in the office, or at any time in case of a pastoral emergency.

  • Most finance-related activities are now "cloud based" and being handled remotely. Automatic giving is still functioning -- we will be making it available for those not already using it. We are depositing checks and paying bills.

  • There will be an intermittent physical presence in the office, but only for short periods each day on Tue - Thurs, and with only one or two people at a time.

  • Installed a mail slot in the side door of the chapel, for delivery of regular US Mail, which will be checked daily, and for anything parishioners need to drop off that they would normally deliver to the offic.

  • Held our first-ever "Virtual" Vestry Meeting 3/24/20 using a conference call program, check in with one another, and discuss progress and plans as we move through these challenging times.

  • We will be using that same technology to "gather" to celebrate Morning Prayer together Wed morning with as many of you as can phone in.
    
    
    During this time, pastoral visits will not be made in-person except in critical situations.
    
    This past week focused on initial notification and making arrangements to "keep on keeping on" as safely as possible as we sort this all out.
     

• 3/17/20
  The Rt. Rev. Jennifer A. Reddall, Bishop of The Episcopal Diocese of Arizona, issued a directive that all Episcopal Churches in the diocese would suspend services and gatherings through April 20.
   

• 3/17/20
  Fr. Peter sent a pastoral letter to notify that St. Christopher's had decided on 3/16/20 to suspend all church gatherings, including Sunday worship, at least through the end of March.
   

• 3/6/20
  The Rt. Rev. Jennifer A. Reddall, Bishop of The Episcopal Diocese of Arizona, released a statement offering some guidance to clergy and congregations within the Diocese of Arizona about practices around Communion. She closed with a message for our clergy that while "we love our congregations and we often sacrifice our own health in service to God and the church. This is not a time to do so."
