Eve’s Place is a 501(c3) nonprofit, providing emergency shelter and empowerment to victims of domestic violence. Our outreach supports them by donating various rummage items such as furniture to Eve’s Treasures Thrift Store located at 10765 W. Peoria Ave., Sun City, AZ. They operate a 24-hour local crisis hotline at 623-537-5380, and their office number is 623-547-6175.

St. Christopher’s began to support Eve’s Place and Eve’s Treasures in 2013. We collect or purchase toiletries (both women’s and men’s) as well as towels, washcloths, and bedding. In September 29 baby quilts, 32 washcloths, 6 pillows and 10 towels were taken to Eve’s Place. Each person leaving the shelter or transitional housing program leaves with a bedding kit. Bargains Galore has begun to work with Eve’s Treasures in a variety of ways. Eve’s Place volunteers were thrilled to receive the new, clean underwear and socks from the Advent youth sock and underwear drive.

This is an important outreach effort as a victim is murdered by domestic violence every 4 days in Arizona. Domestic abuse is the leading cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 and 44 and every 9 seconds a victim is beaten. Lastly, domestic violence affects 1 of every 4 Arizona residents.
