Ministries: Outreach

St. Christopher's is committed to living out our faith by supporting those in need, both in our community and around the world. The Outreach Committee is committed to connecting our members of all ages to the needs beyond our walls, encouraging meaningful opportunities for knowing and serving others, and participating in the reconciling work of Christ in the world through a variety of outreach ministries.

Then the king will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’ [Matthew 25:34-37]

The Outreach Committee organizes a variety of drives throughout the year and distributes both funds and in-kind offerings to projects that meet basic human needs, including food, clothing, and shelter. The Committee strives to build partnership relationships with other community organizations in order to maximize our efforts. The Committee is also responsible for managing congregational support of the Clergy Discretionary Fund and the diocese's Mission Share Rebate dollars to St. Christopher's.

We conduct periodic surveys of the congregation to insure that our efforts represent the interests and call of all of St. Christopher's. Our efforts are organized around Matthew 25 (below). We meet the first Tuesday of the month at 2pm in the parish hall.
